Audimuseum mobile
We developed the overall design and thematic concept for »museum mobile«, a museum honoring the 100 years of company history. When it opened in December 2000, Audi was the first automobile company in Germany to document its history in this way.
Special branding and corporate design
The basic idea involved bringing together the ideas of mobility, growth and transparency. We used the image of the cut tree trunk with its rings as a symbol and inspiration: The entire museum is shaped by a mobile structure made of concentric circles. A moving sun protection system circles the building in time with the sun, changing how the light illuminates the walls. Moving walls with historic timelines rotate around the centre of the building, and Audi prototypes continuously move up and down the floors on a paternoster lift. The fully glazed facade bathes the interior in natural light, making the building look like a vibrant light sculpture from the outside.
