Canyon opens
its first store
in Munich

3/17/2025 With the opening of its new store in Munich’s Werks­viertel, Canyon is setting a new bench­mark in the retail sector. The store concept, de­veloped in colla­boration with Canyon by the strategy and design agency KMS TEAM, is an evo­lution of the brand’s first show­room at its head­quarters in Koblenz.

Canyon stands for per­for­mance, inno­vation, and dis­tinc­tive design. The brand DNA is re­flected in the archi­tecture of the new show­room: mono­lithic struc­tures, extreme angles, and bold con­trasts bring Canyon’s design language into the three-dimen­sional space.

The space is functio­nally divided into two hori­zontal sections: on one side, a dedicated service and work­shop area with a separate entrance, and on the other, a show­room where the brand and its products take center stage, em­bodying Canyon’s core promise »We Inspire to Ride«. Large screens and visuals immerse visitors in the passion of cycling. 

Vertically, the show­room is designed from the ceiling down­wards: a metal grid struc­tures the ceiling with ele­ments at various angles, mirrored on the floor by podiums show­casing the bikes. This system of slanted lines creates a dynamic spatial structure that is both flexible and modular, adapting to different needs. 

The grid serves three key functions: it struc­tures and focuses the space, enhances acoustics, and supports the lighting elements that illumi­nate the show­room and high­light the bikes to perfection. 

With the opening of Canyon Store Munich, the com­pany marks another milestone in its global strategy. Under the »Ride with Us« initiative, Canyon is ex­panding its global service network to create personal touch­points for riders. The store in Werks­viertel serves as a commu­nity hub, service center, and physical brand touch­point where cus­tomers can ex­perience the seam­less Canyon brand ex­perience firsthand.
