»So that Munichremains a city for everyone.«
10/19/2023 At the beginning of next year, the Munich housing associations GEWOFAG and GWG München will join forces and a new strong, municipal company will emerge: Münchner Wohnen.
Today marks the introduction of the Münchner Wohnen visual identity, developed by KMS TEAM along with the brand identity. Starting 1 January 2024, Münchner Wohnen will start working to better fulfil its mission to provide affordable housing for all Munich residents in the Bavarian capital. The guiding principle reflects the clear understanding of their mission: »So that Munich remains a city for everyone.«
The new logo differs from other construction, real estate and public associations.
The new logo differs from other construction, real estate and public associations and encompasses a number of meanings: an »m« and a »w«, people at a table or the floor plan of a housing complex – and some may even recognise a hint of the famed Frauenkirche towers. The »münchner wohnen« name complements in a contemporary font. The lowercase letters signal the association’s modern, democratic and pro-renter understanding. A spectrum of five equally balanced colours clearly visualises the idea of diversity. A new union emerges from over 200 years of expertise and experience: a housing association that is approachable, diverse and prepared for the future.
With around 70,000 apartments, Münchner Wohnen will be Germany’s largest municipal housing association in the South of Germany. One in ten Munich residents will rent from Münchner Wohnen. KMS TEAM worked closely with the management and communications departments at the two original associations, the city’s responsible Planning Department and Supervisory Board chaired by Third Deputy Mayor Verena Dietl to develop the new brand. It is designed to provide orientation and motivation over the course of the merger while helping to gain broad acceptance among the public.
