9/4/2024 The 24th edition of Heidelberg University's research magazine explores the dual concepts of FORGETTING & REMEMBERING. The articles provide insights into current research conducted by Heidelberg scientists across various faculties, including neurophysiology, psychology, and medicine. Remembering and forgetting are central principles not only for our brain but also for our immune system. The contributions cover topics such as the discovery of the key gene associated with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the molecular and neuronal mechanisms that regulate our memory functions.
For this issue, we once again took charge of the editorial design, visually interpreting and illustrating scientific works on cultural memory, geoarchives, and innovative »memory materials« for information storage.
